Seed Savers Exchange Cauliflower, Early Snowball
Introduced to American gardeners in 1878 by Peter Henderson & Company. Smooth 6-7" heads of tightly formed white curds are solid, crisp, and tender, excellent quality. Can be over-wintered for early crops in warmer regions. 60-85 days from transplant.
You should start plants indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date for transplanting them into the garden.
Make sure that your soil is well fertilized as this crop is a heavy feeder and takes a lot of nutrients from the soil. Consider adding compost to the soil the year before you plant.
