General Hydroponics pH Test Indicator Solution
Monitor nutrient solution pH quickly and conveniently with General Hydroponics pH Test Indicator Solution. This concentrated liquid reagent provides an easy-to-read visual pH test across a broad 4.0 to 8.5 range, making it useful for hydroponic reservoirs, coco coir, soilless growing media, and soil feeding solutions.
The larger refill format is ideal for frequent testing or for growers who already have a reusable test vial. It requires no batteries, calibration solutions, probes, or electronic equipment.
Please note: This product includes pH Test Indicator solution only. A test vial, pH Up, and pH Down are not included.
General Hydroponics pH Test Indicator Benefits
- Wide Testing Range: Measures nutrient solutions from pH 4.0 to 8.5.
- Simple Visual Results: The sample changes color according to its acidity or alkalinity.
- Economical Refill Size: A practical choice for growers who test reservoirs and feeding solutions regularly.
- No Calibration Required: Provides convenient testing without maintaining a digital pH meter.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for hydroponics, coco coir, soil, and soilless gardens.
How to Test Your Nutrient Solution
- Mix all base nutrients and additives into fresh water before testing.
- Rinse a clean test vial and add approximately 5 mL of the finished nutrient solution.
- Add three drops of pH Test Indicator to the sample.
- Gently shake or swirl the vial to mix.
- Compare the resulting color with the General Hydroponics pH color chart under clear, full-spectrum light. Viewing the sample against a white background can make the color easier to interpret.
- If necessary, adjust the main nutrient solution gradually with pH Up or pH Down, mix thoroughly, and test again.
Important Testing Tips
- Never add the indicator directly to your reservoir or feeding solution.
- Discard the tested sample rather than returning it to the reservoir.
- Rinse the test vial thoroughly before and after every use.
- Use the official color chart instead of relying solely on generalized color descriptions.
- Keep the bottle tightly sealed and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Keep out of reach of children.
Love this stuff. I'm older so i don't take short cuts with meters if not cleaned and properly maintained can fall out of calibration. This old school method is easy to use and very accurate. Price checked this vs. 4 other sites you can't beat the price!!!!
