General Hydroponics pH Down is a liquid pH-adjusting solution formulated with food-grade phosphoric acid. It helps lower high nutrient-solution pH into the appropriate range for nutrient availability and plant uptake.

Designed for hydroponic and liquid-feeding programs, pH Down allows growers to make careful, incremental adjustments after nutrients have been mixed. Most crops are commonly grown within a nutrient-solution pH range of approximately 5.5 to 6.5, although the correct target depends on the crop, growing medium, and feeding program.

How to Use pH Down

1. Add and thoroughly mix all plant nutrients and compatible supplements into fresh water.
2. Test the completed nutrient solution using a calibrated pH meter or reliable test kit.
3. If the pH is too high, add a very small amount of pH Down to the diluted nutrient solution.
4. Stir or circulate the solution thoroughly.
5. Test the pH again and repeat in small increments until the desired level is reached.

Important: There is no universal per-gallon application rate. The amount required depends on source-water alkalinity, reservoir volume, nutrient concentration, and starting pH. Always add gradually and test between adjustments.
