How to Make Kelp Meal Tea
Mix ¼ cup of kelp meal with 1 gallon of water. Allow the mixture to steep for 2–3 days, agitating it once daily. Use the finished tea to water plants or apply it as a foliar spray. For foliar applications, strain the tea thoroughly through cloth before adding it to a sprayer to help prevent clogging.
Good to Know
Kelp Meal is a low-analysis plant food and soil amendment, not a complete fertilizer. Its 1-0-1 analysis contains no guaranteed phosphate, so nutrient requirements may need to be met with compost or an appropriate complete fertilizer. Measure carefully and follow the label rather than assuming that a heavier application will produce better results.
