Emerald Harvest Cali Pro Grow A 3-0-0 is the nitrogen-, calcium-, and micronutrient-rich Part A component of the professional Cali Pro two-part vegetative base nutrient system. It works with Cali Pro Grow B to support vigorous roots, healthy foliage, sturdy stems, productive branching, and the strong plant structure needed before flowering.

Grow A supplies three forms of nitrogen for balanced vegetative nutrition, along with calcium for cell-wall development and an extensive package of chelated micronutrients. Its straightforward equal-part formula provides complete vegetative-stage base nutrition when combined properly with Cali Pro Grow B.

Important: This Listing Is for Grow A Only

This product listing includes Emerald Harvest Cali Pro Grow A only.

Cali Pro Grow B is required to create the complete two-part vegetative nutrient program and is sold separately. Grow A is not intended to provide complete base nutrition by itself.

Always use equal amounts of Grow A and Grow B according to the Emerald Harvest feeding chart.

Key Benefits

  • Vegetative-stage nutrition: Supports vigorous roots, stems, branches, and foliage.
  • Three forms of nitrogen: Combines ammoniacal, nitrate, and urea nitrogen for balanced plant availability.
  • Calcium-rich Part A formula: Supplies calcium for cell formation, cell-wall strength, and healthy new growth.
  • Chelated micronutrients: Provides copper, iron, manganese, and zinc in forms designed for reliable root uptake.
  • Chlorophyll support: Nitrogen, iron, copper, and manganese contribute to green foliage and photosynthesis.
  • Strong plant structure: Calcium supports the sturdy tissues required for continued vegetative development.
  • Balanced two-part design: Complements the phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and sulfur supplied by Grow B.
  • Equal-part simplicity: Grow A and Grow B are measured at matching rates throughout the vegetative schedule.
  • Hydroponic compatibility: Suitable for growing media used in recirculating and drain-to-waste systems.

Nutrient Sources

Cali Pro Grow A is derived from:

  • Ammonium calcium nitrate double salt
  • Urea
  • Cobalt nitrate
  • Iron EDTA
  • Sodium borate
  • Sodium molybdate
  • Copper EDTA
  • Manganese EDTA
  • Zinc EDTA

These ingredients supply the nitrogen, calcium, and micronutrients that complement the phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, and sulfur delivered by Cali Pro Grow B.

How Grow A Supports Vegetative Development

Grow A supplies several nutrients that are particularly important during active vegetative growth:

  • Nitrogen: Supports chlorophyll production, amino acids, proteins, enzymes, and new foliage.
  • Calcium: Contributes to cell formation, strong cell walls, root development, and healthy growing points.
  • Iron: Supports chlorophyll production and plant processes involved in photosynthesis and respiration.
  • Manganese: Works with iron in chlorophyll production and supports enzyme activity.
  • Copper: Contributes to chlorophyll formation, lignin production, and important plant enzymes.
  • Zinc: Supports growth regulation, enzyme function, and healthy plant development.
  • Boron and molybdenum: Support cell development, nitrogen metabolism, and other essential plant processes.

Grow A provides only part of the required nutrient profile. Grow B must be used with it to supply complementary macronutrients and secondary nutrients.

Why Grow A and Grow B Are Separate

Grow A contains concentrated calcium, while Grow B contains concentrated phosphorus and sulfur sources. Combining the undiluted concentrates can cause minerals to react and form insoluble deposits.

Keeping the components separate maintains stability during storage. Once Grow A has been thoroughly diluted into water, Grow B can be added safely to complete the nutrient solution.

Never mix undiluted Grow A and Grow B directly together.

Official Application Rates

Use equal amounts of Cali Pro Grow A and Cali Pro Grow B:

  • Seedlings and Cuttings: Use 2 mL of Grow A and 2 mL of Grow B per gallon.
  • Transplants: Use 3 mL of Grow A and 3 mL of Grow B per gallon.
  • Early Vegetative Growth: Use 4 mL of Grow A and 4 mL of Grow B per gallon.
  • Late Vegetative Growth: Use 5 mL of Grow A and 5 mL of Grow B per gallon.
  • Flowering Week 1 – Transition: Continue with 5 mL of Grow A and 5 mL of Grow B per gallon.
  • Flowering Week 2: Discontinue Grow A and Grow B and transition to Cali Pro Bloom A and Bloom B.

To extend the vegetative phase, Emerald Harvest recommends repeating one or more late-vegetative weeks. Monitor plant response, source-water quality, EC or PPM, and growing conditions throughout the feeding program.

Correct Mixing Instructions

  1. Shake both nutrient containers thoroughly before measuring.
  2. Fill the reservoir or watering container with fresh water.
  3. Add the measured amount of Cali Pro Grow A first.
  4. Mix thoroughly until Grow A is completely dispersed.
  5. Add an equal amount of Cali Pro Grow B.
  6. Mix thoroughly again.
  7. Add compatible supplements individually, stirring between each addition.
  8. Check the completed solution’s EC or PPM and pH before feeding.

Never add Grow B before Grow A, and never combine the undiluted concentrates.

Water Temperature and pH

Emerald Harvest recommends:

  • Nutrient-solution temperature: 60–72°F
  • Final pH after mixing: 5.8–6.3

Add Grow A, Grow B, and any compatible supplements before making final pH adjustments. Apply pH adjusters gradually and test the solution between additions.

Transitioning to Cali Pro Bloom

Continue using Cali Pro Grow A and Grow B through the first flowering transition week. Beginning in flowering week two, discontinue the Grow formulas and replace them with Cali Pro Bloom A and Bloom B.

Do not use Grow A as a substitute for Bloom A. Although both Part A formulas supply nitrogen, calcium, and micronutrients, each is balanced for a different stage of plant development.

Growing Media and System Compatibility

Cali Pro Grow A and Grow B are suitable for growing media used in:

  • Recirculating hydroponic systems
  • Drain-to-waste systems
  • Coco coir
  • Rockwool
  • Deep water culture
  • Flood-and-drain systems
  • Drip irrigation and fertigation
  • Other hydroponic and soilless applications

Adjust nutrient strength according to plant variety, source water, growing medium, environmental conditions, and system design.

Using It With Emerald Harvest Supplements

Cali Pro Grow A and Grow B can be incorporated into an Emerald Harvest vegetative program with products such as Emerald Goddess, Honey Chome, Root Wizard, Cal-Mag, and Sturdy Stalk.

Follow the applicable feeding chart and monitor total EC or PPM when combining products. Emerald Harvest recommends applying Cal-Mag and Sturdy Stalk on water-only days and not using both during the same watering.
