Emerald Harvest Root Wizard is a concentrated microbial root inoculant formulated with six strains of plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria. These beneficial bacterial spores colonize the rhizosphere, helping plants develop greater root mass, longer root hairs and more root surface area for efficient water and nutrient uptake.

Root Wizard also supports nutrient cycling by helping break down organic matter and convert certain unavailable nutrients into more accessible forms. Its high concentration of viable spores makes it suitable for introducing beneficial microbial life into hydroponic, coco coir and soil-based growing environments.

Key Benefits

  • Six-strain PGPR formula: Supplies a targeted combination of beneficial rhizobacteria selected for root-zone performance.
  • High microbial concentration: Contains a combined 96 million colony-forming units per milliliter.
  • Greater root development: Supports longer roots, increased root-hair development and greater total root surface area.
  • Improved nutrient uptake: A larger, more active root system can absorb water and dissolved nutrients more efficiently.
  • Nutrient cycling: Beneficial bacteria help break down organic material and convert certain nutrients into more accessible forms.
  • Rhizosphere colonization: Introduces viable microbial spores capable of establishing colonies around plant roots.
  • Root-zone competition: Supports a populated microbial environment that can compete with undesirable microorganisms for space and resources.
  • Two-application program: The standard feeding chart requires only two applications during the crop cycle.
  • Hydroponic compatibility: Suitable for soil, coco coir, recirculating hydroponics and drain-to-waste systems.

Guaranteed Bacterial Analysis

Root Wizard contains the following viable bacterial spores:

  • Bacillus amyloliquefaciens: 2.5 × 10⁷ CFU/mL
  • Bacillus licheniformis: 2.0 × 10⁷ CFU/mL
  • Bacillus subtilis: 2.0 × 10⁷ CFU/mL
  • Bacillus laevolacticus: 2.0 × 10⁷ CFU/mL
  • Bacillus pasteurii: 1.0 × 10⁷ CFU/mL
  • Paenibacillus azotofixans: 1.0 × 10⁶ CFU/mL

The combined guaranteed concentration is 9.6 × 10⁷ CFU/mL, or 96 million viable colony-forming units per milliliter.

Root Wizard contains non-plant-food ingredients and is classified as a microbial root inoculant. It is not a complete fertilizer.

How Plant Growth-Promoting Rhizobacteria Work

Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria, commonly called PGPRs, establish colonies in the rhizosphere immediately surrounding plant roots. Different strains can perform complementary functions within this environment.

These beneficial bacteria may support plants by:

  • Colonizing root surfaces and the surrounding growing medium
  • Encouraging root branching and root-hair development
  • Breaking down organic material in the root zone
  • Helping convert certain fixed nutrients into more accessible forms
  • Producing naturally occurring compounds associated with plant and root development
  • Competing with undesirable microorganisms for available space and resources

Root Wizard supports a biologically active growing environment but does not sterilize the root zone or replace appropriate sanitation practices.

Official Application Schedule

The Emerald Harvest feeding chart recommends two root-zone applications:

  • Early Vegetative Growth: Apply 15 mL per gallon or 3.75 mL per liter.
  • Flowering Week 2 – Early Flowering: Apply 15 mL per gallon or 3.75 mL per liter.

No additional Root Wizard applications are shown during seedlings, transplanting, late vegetative growth, mid flowering, late flowering or ripening on the standard chart.

For crops with a different growth schedule, align the second application with early flower development and follow the current container label.

Recommended Mixing Instructions

  1. Shake the container thoroughly to redistribute the microbial spores.
  2. Fill the reservoir or watering container with fresh water.
  3. Add the required base nutrients in their recommended sequence.
  4. Mix thoroughly after each base nutrient.
  5. Add Root Wizard at the recommended rate.
  6. Add other compatible supplements individually, mixing between additions.
  7. Check the completed solution’s EC or PPM and pH before application.

Never combine Root Wizard directly with concentrated fertilizers or undiluted supplements.

Using Root Wizard With Other Products

Root Wizard can be used with Emerald Harvest Grow, Micro and Bloom, Cali Pro nutrients and many other compatible fertilizer programs. Complete the base-nutrient mixing sequence before adding Root Wizard.

Emerald Harvest specifically recommends pairing Root Wizard with Honey Chome. The natural carbohydrate ingredients in Honey Chome provide a food source that can help support beneficial root-zone microbes.

Because Root Wizard contains living bacterial spores, confirm compatibility before using it in the same solution as strong oxidizers, disinfectants, bactericides or sterilizing reservoir treatments.

Root-Zone and Foliar Application

Root-zone feeding is the primary application method shown on the official Emerald Harvest feed chart. Apply the diluted solution through the reservoir, irrigation system or regular watering program.

The manufacturer also identifies Root Wizard as foliar-compatible but does not publish a separate foliar concentration on its standard feeding chart. Follow the current container label for foliar dilution and application instructions.

Growing Media and System Compatibility

Root Wizard is suitable for properly managed:

  • Hydroponic reservoirs
  • Coco coir
  • Soil and soilless mixes
  • Deep water culture
  • Aeroponics
  • Nutrient film technique
  • Flood-and-drain systems
  • Drip irrigation and fertigation
  • Recirculating systems
  • Drain-to-waste systems
  • Regular-watering container gardens

Maintain appropriate aeration, irrigation, temperature and reservoir conditions to support a productive root environment.

Important Usage Notes

  • Root Wizard is a microbial inoculant, not a complete base fertilizer.
  • Shake thoroughly before every application.
  • Follow the two-application schedule unless the current container label directs otherwise.
  • Do not mix directly with undiluted fertilizer concentrates.
  • Root Wizard does not sterilize contaminated growing media.
  • It is not registered as a pesticide, fungicide or treatment for plant disease.
  • Continue following proper sanitation and reservoir-maintenance practices.
  • Store tightly sealed and protected from direct sunlight.
  • The manufacturer lists a shelf life of 18 months or more under proper storage conditions.
  • For best microbial viability, use the product within a reasonable period after opening.
