Give seedlings, transplants and actively growing plants immediately available marine nutrition with FoxFarm Bush Doctor Wholly Mackerel. This concentrated 3-1-0 liquid fish plant food is derived from fish protein hydrolysate and formulated to support vigorous vegetative growth.

Wholly Mackerel supplies nitrogen for green foliage and continued plant development, along with phosphorus to support roots, energy transfer and early fruit formation. Its liquid formula mixes easily with water and is applied as a soil drench in in-ground gardens and container plantings.

Registered as a CDFA Organic Input Material, Wholly Mackerel can be incorporated into an organic gardening program or used with other FoxFarm fertilizers according to the appropriate feeding schedule.

Cover the vented cap and shake well before use. Store in a cool location away from direct sunlight.

Using Wholly Mackerel with other FoxFarm products:

Wholly Mackerel supplies fish-derived nitrogen and phosphorus but contains no guaranteed potassium. For complete plant nutrition, incorporate it into a balanced FoxFarm soil-feeding program rather than relying on it as the plant’s only fertilizer throughout the lifecycle.

  • Big Bloom: Provides gentle organic-based nutrition and trace elements that complement the stronger nitrogen supplied by Wholly Mackerel.
  • Grow Big: Both products provide nitrogen for vegetative growth. Follow the FoxFarm feeding schedule and monitor plant response to avoid supplying more nitrogen than the plant requires.
  • Tiger Bloom: Supplies phosphorus and potassium as plants enter flowering. Wholly Mackerel may continue through early fruiting according to its label, while Tiger Bloom provides more bloom-focused nutrition.
  • Kelp Me Kelp You: Adds kelp-derived nitrogen, potassium, copper and zinc during vegetative growth. Use only at scheduled rates because both products contribute additional nitrogen.
  • Kangaroots: Supports root efficiency with beneficial microorganisms and may be used during early plant development alongside a balanced feeding program.
  • Microbe Brew: Encourages microbial activity around the root zone and can be used throughout vegetative and flowering growth according to the FoxFarm schedule.
  • Bembé: Provides carbohydrate-rich bloom nutrition during flowering and fruiting, complementing the earlier vegetative nutrition supplied by Wholly Mackerel.
  • Boomerang: Use as a recovery supplement when plants are experiencing environmental or nutritional stress. Adjust the normal feeding program during recovery to avoid overfeeding.
  • Open Sesame, Beastie Bloomz and Cha Ching: Introduce these soluble bloom fertilizers sequentially at their designated flowering stages rather than adding them during early seedling or vegetative growth.
  • Coco Loco, Happy Frog and Ocean Forest: These growing media contain starter nutrition. Begin Wholly Mackerel conservatively after plants become established and require supplemental feeding.

When combining FoxFarm products, begin with fresh water, add each product individually and follow the appropriate FoxFarm soil-feeding schedule.
