Meter Compatibility

This solution provides a 1500 ppm calibration reference. Before use, confirm that your meter’s instructions specify a 1500 ppm standard and identify the required TDS conversion scale.

PPM meters may use different conversion factors, commonly identified as the NaCl/500 scale or the 442/700 scale. These scales are not automatically interchangeable. Always follow the calibration value and procedure supplied by your meter manufacturer.

How to Calibrate Your Meter

  1. Rinse the meter probe with distilled or deionized water.
  2. Pour a small amount of fresh calibration solution into a separate clean container.
  3. Place the probe into the solution without allowing it to touch the bottom or sides of the container.
  4. Allow the reading to stabilize.
  5. Follow your meter’s calibration procedure and adjust it to the specified 1500 ppm reference value.
  6. Remove the probe, rinse it with distilled or deionized water, and gently blot away excess moisture.
  7. Discard the used calibration solution after testing.

Calibration and Storage Tips

  • Never return used calibration solution to the original bottle.
  • Do not place the meter probe directly into the stock bottle, as this may contaminate the remaining solution.
  • Use a fresh portion of solution for each calibration session.
  • Allow the meter and calibration solution to reach a stable, similar temperature before calibrating.
  • Keep the bottle tightly sealed when not in use.
  • Store in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and contaminants.
