NPK Industries RAW Enzymes Root-Zone Conditioner
NPK Industries RAW Enzymes is a concentrated, tech-grade enzyme supplement formulated to break down dead root material and accumulated organic debris in soil, coco coir and hydroponic growing systems. Its targeted blend of Cellulase, Xylanase and Beta-Glucanase converts complex plant material into simpler compounds, supporting nutrient recycling and a cleaner, more efficient root-zone environment.
The uncut formula contains no fillers or added dyes and is 100% water-soluble for easy incorporation into nutrient reservoirs, irrigation solutions and growing-media conditioning programs.
Key Benefits
- Breaks down dead roots: Helps digest cellulose and other structural materials found in decaying root tissue.
- Recycles organic debris: Converts complex plant residue into simpler compounds that may be reused within the root zone.
- Supports cleaner growing media: Reduces the accumulation of dead organic material around healthy roots.
- Improves nutrient availability: Helps release nutrients that may remain trapped within decomposing plant material.
- Supports root-zone oxygen: Reducing accumulated debris can help maintain open pore space and solution movement.
- Complements beneficial microbes: Produces simpler organic compounds that can be processed by compatible root-zone microorganisms.
- Conditions reusable media: May be incorporated into coco and growing-media maintenance programs between planting cycles.
- Highly concentrated: Requires only a small amount per gallon of water.
- Fully water-soluble: Mixes cleanly when properly dissolved and contains no added fillers or dyes.
- Full-cycle compatibility: Suitable during propagation, vegetative growth and flowering.
Active Enzyme Blend
- Cellulase – 132,000 U/g: Breaks down cellulose found in dead roots and plant material into smaller carbohydrates.
- Xylanase – 8,000 U/g: Breaks down xylan and related fibrous components of plant-cell walls.
- Beta-Glucanase – 5,000 U/g: Breaks down beta-glucans and other complex carbohydrates found in organic debris.
These enzymes work as biological catalysts, accelerating specific breakdown processes without functioning as living microorganisms themselves.
How RAW Enzymes Works
Plant roots naturally shed cells and fine root hairs throughout the growing cycle. If this material accumulates, it can contribute to organic buildup within growing media, reservoirs and irrigation systems.
RAW Enzymes helps break complex root and plant material into smaller compounds. This supports organic-matter recycling and creates material that compatible beneficial microorganisms can process further.
The formula conditions the root zone but does not replace proper sanitation, aeration, irrigation or reservoir maintenance.
How to Use
Follow the appropriate rate for the application:
- Seedling and Cutting Media: Mix 1/16 teaspoon, approximately 0.3 gram, per gallon of water. Soak propagation plugs or rockwool cubes and then continue the normal propagation program.
- Soil, Coco and Soilless Media: Mix 1/8 teaspoon, approximately 0.6 gram, per gallon of water.
- Hydroponic Reservoirs: Mix 1/8 teaspoon, approximately 0.6 gram, per gallon during the nutrient solution change.
- Root-Zone Maintenance: Apply with the regular feeding solution according to the current feeding schedule.
- System or Equipment Wash: Use 1/16 teaspoon, approximately 0.3 gram, per gallon when following the manufacturer’s equipment-cleaning application.
Measure carefully because RAW Enzymes is highly concentrated. Increasing the rate beyond the published directions is not necessary for routine maintenance.
Recommended Mixing Instructions
- Fill the reservoir or watering container with fresh water.
- Measure RAW Enzymes using a clean, dry measuring tool.
- Pre-dissolve the powder in a small amount of water.
- Add the dissolved solution to the main reservoir or watering container.
- Mix or circulate thoroughly.
- Add compatible fertilizers and supplements individually.
- Check the completed solution’s EC or PPM and pH when applicable.
- Apply the prepared solution according to the selected feeding program.
Never combine the dry enzyme powder directly with concentrated fertilizers or chemical cleaners.
Using It With Beneficial Microbes
RAW Enzymes is compatible with many beneficial bacteria, fungi and microbial inoculants. The enzymes begin breaking complex organic material into simpler compounds, while living microorganisms may continue processing those materials within biologically active media.
Add microbial inoculants according to their individual label directions. Avoid combining enzymes or beneficial microbes directly with concentrated hydrogen peroxide, chlorine, sterilizing agents or strong oxidizers.
Using It With Fertilizers
RAW Enzymes may be incorporated into organic-based or conventional mineral fertilizer programs. It does not supply complete plant nutrition and should be used alongside an appropriate base fertilizer.
Dilute or dissolve each product separately. Monitor EC or PPM when combining several supplements, even though RAW Enzymes itself is not used primarily as a mineral fertilizer.
Hydroponic and Irrigation-System Use
The completely soluble, filler-free formula is suitable for hydroponic reservoirs and compatible irrigation systems when properly dissolved.
To maintain reliable system performance:
- Pre-dissolve the powder before adding it to the reservoir.
- Maintain adequate circulation and aeration.
- Inspect filters and emitters regularly.
- Remove large pieces of root or plant material manually.
- Clean reservoirs and irrigation components between crops.
- Do not rely on enzymes to correct severe biofilm or sanitation problems.
Reusing Coco Coir and Growing Media
RAW Enzymes may be incorporated into a growing-media conditioning program to help break down small remaining roots and organic residue.
Remove as much old root material as practical before reuse. Flush and condition the medium appropriately, then verify its EC, pH and physical structure before planting again.
Only reuse media when the previous crop was free from significant pest and disease problems. RAW Enzymes breaks down organic material but does not sterilize contaminated media.
Important Usage Notes
- RAW Enzymes is an enzyme supplement, not a complete fertilizer.
- It is not a pesticide, fungicide, disinfectant or root-disease treatment.
- Remove heavy root masses manually rather than expecting enzymes to dissolve them completely.
- Do not exceed the recommended concentration.
- Avoid direct contact with concentrated oxidizers or chemical sterilants.
- Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.
- Protect the powder from moisture and humidity.
- Reseal the package promptly after use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
