NPK Industries RAW Microbes Grow Stage is a concentrated microbial inoculant formulated to establish productive root-zone biology during seedling development, transplant establishment, and vegetative growth. Its specialized blend of endomycorrhizal fungi and beneficial Bacillus species helps support root expansion, nutrient cycling, and a biologically active rhizosphere.

The microorganisms are inoculated onto a mineral-based carrier that disperses into water as a suspension. Once introduced near actively growing roots, the fungi and bacteria interact with the plant and surrounding growing medium to help improve access to water and mineral nutrition.

Key Benefits

  • Vegetative-stage formulation: Developed specifically for seedlings, transplants, mother plants, and actively growing vegetative crops.
  • Root establishment: Supports root initiation, branching, and expansion during critical early development.
  • Endomycorrhizal support: Beneficial fungi associate with compatible plant roots and extend the effective nutrient- and water-absorbing area.
  • Beneficial Bacillus species: Help support nutrient cycling and a biologically active rhizosphere.
  • Improved nutrient availability: Microbial activity can help transform certain organic and mineral compounds into more accessible forms.
  • Transplant support: Helps establish root-zone biology when plants are moved into larger containers or new growing media.
  • High-count microbial blend: Formulated to deliver a concentrated inoculation of viable beneficial organisms.
  • Double-tested quality: NPK Industries tests both the individual cultures and the completed blend for identity and viability.
  • Broad media compatibility: Suitable for soil, coco coir, soilless substrates, and compatible biologically managed hydroponic systems.

Microbial Formulation

RAW Microbes Grow Stage combines two important groups of root-zone organisms:

  • Endomycorrhizal fungi: Form symbiotic associations with compatible plant roots, producing fine fungal structures that help explore the surrounding medium for water and nutrients.
  • Bacillus species: Colonize the rhizosphere and support biological nutrient cycling around actively growing roots.
  • Mineral-based carrier: Helps maintain the dry microbial blend and distribute the organisms during application.

The manufacturer does not currently publish a complete species-by-species analysis or exact CFU count on its public product page. Refer to the current package label for batch-specific guarantees.

How Grow-Stage Microbes Work

Endomycorrhizal fungi require contact with compatible living roots to establish a beneficial association. Once colonization begins, their microscopic structures can extend beyond the plant’s immediate root surface and explore a larger volume of growing medium.

Beneficial bacteria occupy the rhizosphere and contribute to the biological processes that cycle nutrients and decompose compatible organic inputs. Together, these organisms help create an active root-zone environment during the period when plants are developing their vegetative framework.

RAW Microbes Grow Stage supports root-zone biology but does not replace a complete base fertilizer, proper irrigation, suitable pH, or responsible sanitation.

How to Use

  • Solution Application: Mix ½–1 teaspoon per gallon of water or completed nutrient solution.
  • Vegetative Weeks 1–4: Apply ½–1 teaspoon per gallon according to the current RAW soil and coco feeding chart.
  • Application Frequency: Apply during normal irrigation or feeding as needed; routine programs commonly inoculate every one to two weeks.
  • Per-Liter Equivalent: Approximately 0.65–1.3 mL of dry product per liter when converting from the teaspoon-per-gallon rate.
  • Flowering Transition: Switch to RAW Microbes Bloom Stage when plants enter flowering or fruit production.

Because this is a suspension-forming biological powder, some visible particles or cloudiness after mixing are normal.

Seedlings and Transplants

Apply RAW Microbes Grow Stage early enough for beneficial organisms to establish while roots are actively expanding. For transplants, place the diluted suspension directly around the root zone after planting.

Mycorrhizal fungi perform best when introduced close to living roots. Avoid pouring a concentrated layer of dry product directly against delicate seedling stems.

Dry Growing-Media Application

RAW Microbes Grow Stage may also be applied to soil, coco, or soilless media:

  1. Measure ½–1 teaspoon for the intended plant or root-zone area.
  2. Distribute the powder evenly around the base of the plant.
  3. Lightly incorporate it into the upper growing medium when practical.
  4. Water thoroughly to move the organisms toward the active root zone.
  5. Repeat as needed during vegetative development.

Avoid leaving the dry powder exposed on the surface for extended periods in direct sunlight or excessive heat.

Recommended Mixing Instructions

  1. Begin with clean water in the reservoir or watering container.
  2. Add and thoroughly dissolve the required base fertilizer.
  3. Add compatible mineral or biological supplements individually.
  4. Adjust the completed nutrient solution to the appropriate pH.
  5. Add RAW Microbes Grow Stage last at ½–1 teaspoon per gallon.
  6. Agitate thoroughly to distribute the suspension.
  7. Apply promptly to the root zone.

Do not allow the mixed microbial solution to remain stagnant for an extended period. Maintain circulation or periodic agitation in reservoirs because suspended material may settle.

Using It With RAW Grow

RAW Microbes Grow Stage pairs naturally with NPK Industries RAW Grow during vegetative development:

  • RAW Grow: Supplies the primary, secondary, and micronutrients needed for vegetative plant growth.
  • RAW Microbes Grow Stage: Introduces beneficial fungi and bacteria that support rhizosphere activity, root development, and nutrient cycling.

Mix and dissolve RAW Grow first, complete any pH adjustment, and then add the microbial inoculant immediately before feeding. RAW Microbes Grow Stage is an additive and should not be substituted for RAW Grow or another complete vegetative fertilizer.

Using It With Microbial Foods and Enzymes

Compatible carbohydrate supplements, humic substances, kelp products, and enzyme formulas may be incorporated into a biologically managed program. These products serve different functions:

  • Microbial inoculants introduce beneficial organisms.
  • Carbohydrate products provide carbon sources that can support microbial activity.
  • Enzymes help break down compatible organic debris.
  • Humic and fulvic substances support mineral mobility and growing-medium performance.

Avoid assuming that more biological products will always produce better results. Follow label rates and monitor reservoir cleanliness, oxygenation, irrigation equipment, and root-zone conditions.

Water Quality and Biological Compatibility

Strong disinfectants may reduce microbial viability. Avoid applying RAW Microbes Grow Stage in the same solution as:

  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Chlorine or high levels of chloramine
  • Ozone-treated water
  • Sterilizing reservoir treatments
  • Fungicides or bactericides
  • Other products specifically intended to kill microorganisms

When using treated municipal water, follow an appropriate water-conditioning practice before adding the inoculant. Do not use chemical dechlorination products unless they are compatible with the fertilizer and biological program.

Hydroponic System Considerations

RAW Microbes Grow Stage can be used in compatible hydroponic systems managed to support living root-zone biology. Because the product forms a suspension, maintain adequate circulation and inspect filters, fine emitters, and irrigation lines regularly.

Sterile-reservoir programs that rely on oxidizers or disinfectants are not compatible with living microbial inoculants. Choose either a biologically managed or sterile approach rather than alternating between both without an appropriate transition procedure.

Transitioning to Bloom Stage Microbes

Discontinue RAW Microbes Grow Stage when the vegetative phase ends and transition to NPK Industries RAW Microbes Bloom Stage. The Bloom Stage formula is designed for the different biological and nutritional demands associated with flowering and fruit development.

Using the stage-specific products provides a clearer feeding program than continuing the vegetative inoculant throughout bloom.

Important Usage Notes
