Correcting a Nitrogen Deficiency
Possible nitrogen-deficiency symptoms may include pale foliage, reduced vigor, slowed growth, and yellowing that begins on older leaves. These symptoms are not unique to nitrogen deficiency.
Before adding RAW Nitrogen, inspect:
- Root-zone pH
- Input and runoff EC or PPM
- Irrigation frequency
- Root health and oxygen availability
- Drainage and runoff
- Source-water quality
- Existing nitrogen levels
- Recent environmental stress
Nutrient lockout, damaged roots, overwatering, incorrect pH, or excessive fertilizer strength can resemble nitrogen deficiency. Adding more nitrogen will not correct those underlying problems.
Recommended Mixing Instructions
- Fill the reservoir or watering container with clean water.
- Add and thoroughly dissolve the base fertilizer.
- Add RAW Nitrogen at the selected rate.
- Mix until the powder is completely dissolved.
- Add other compatible supplements individually.
- Check the final EC or PPM.
- Measure and adjust pH only after all fertilizer components are mixed.
- Apply the completed solution to the root zone.
Never combine RAW Nitrogen directly with undiluted fertilizer concentrates. Dissolve every component separately into water.
Foliar Application
NPK Industries lists RAW Nitrogen as suitable for foliar feeding. Because the current public product page does not provide a specific foliar concentration, follow the directions on the package being sold.
When applying any foliar fertilizer:
